| I like how you answered "Is it [x] or is it [y]?" with "Nah". So if this thread is your relationship with paint, it'd be [X] in this case, right? | |

| Well, I didn't understand what you meant by exclusive journal, and I couldn't figure out what you meant by public journal since I don't know how much more public it can get than putting it in a thread. So I dismissed them both and just told it like it is. | |

| Sudden desire to have my try at a little bit of anime. Here I made a... 15-20 minute doodle of sasuke's portrait, who's gesturing as if to say, "Whatchu lookin' at, bitch?" I don't have a comfortable time drawing specifically anime faces, because I hardly draw them in that common way. I think I'm still not sure what my comfort style is, besides vague-looking blank faces. | |

| I fantasize about making animated music videos that are completely orchestrated and send chills through your body, and one of my favorite things about my imaginary music videos is the intense, compelling expressions on the faces. So I thought I'd see if I have the capacity to do these faces I imagine. I think I'm somewhat there... well, I gave it my best in my current experience point. The whole time I was imagining things like, naruto going mass kyuubi rage, massive fury, passion, vulnerability. War cry of a life time, that's what I was trying to do. I'll get better at it with repetition. | |

| Edyrem, you should try to recreate that face as realistic as possible. It conveys so much emotion. I'm curious as to what it would look like in it's full form. | |

| Yeah bro, the best way to start is with realism, then take your own cartoony spin on it.
Whadaya mean full form, though? As in in full realistic detail (the most I can muster) ? | |

| Girl Muscles I'm getting more familiar with musculature but I'll admit that I improvised some of the muscles (thighs, butt area). And a random undefined anime girl in Asuka's (NGE) suit. | |

| You're definitely getting the hang of muscle definition! Just work on cleaner linework so it's easier to follow the lines and you'll improve big time!

| First drawing with TVPaint (actually, it's not, I drew many crappy blobs before this). I just wanted to draw any landscape in particular so I can warm up with it and get to do one of those blue/orange sketches you see in animatics. I think that color distinction good habit to adapt to. For what it's worth, here's this lion drawing that I got raged trying to make awesome. Maybe it looks kind of cool at first sight but I was going for a way cooler image, so I got frustrated and stopped it because I felt like shit drawing any more of this lion. | |

| Just WOW for the first one what do you plan on doing with it? there a plot and why orange and blue, cuz they contrast? | |

| Haha nah, no plot on that picture I don't plan on doing anything else with it, I just wanted to make an atmosphere/setting. Orange and blue because I see pros doing that in anime productions (the hand drawn rough sketches); they assign blue to backgrounds, and orange to animated objects. I only drew it because I wanted to do a blue background and orange character hahaha. I actually intended on animating when I started it but I ended up detailing it beyond animating . On the other hand, you can never have a too detailed background... I think I actually could animate the orange character on that setting. But I'd rather make something else. | |

| I think the blue is a specific color that disappears from view when scanned. It's a habit of professionals that work digitally after having worked on paper they kept after changing medium but digitally has no use anymore.
I don't know about the orange, however, might be because it has so much contrast with the blue.
Looking good bro, but Im impressed how you can see where the clean lines will have to go on that lion picture, with all the scribbles on the right arm ( our right ) it's hard to see any specific form hahaha.
I wonder how your drawings would look if you cleaned them up a bit, specifically the blue/ orange one!

| It doesn't surprise me that there was some functional reason for that color in traditional animating At the very least, I did it because it is cool. Well, it's very easy to see where you put cleaner lines ("cleanER' because one could even clean those after) when you know what you were trying to draw while setting the rough base Yeah I kind of think I have weak cleaning skills... I should practice that now. | |

| Haha we'll see how we describe ourselves is subjective and our art is what does the talking. I don't remember seeing a cleaned drawing from you; why don't cha PM me if I overlooked/forgot something you already showed us? | |
