| Alright, this is 100% true, trust me. I'm riding my friend Nick's bike to my friend Wyatt's house, I'm rideing a good 4 miles, and next to BestBuy I see a friken labtop NO JOKE, a friken labtop laying in a bush, and with everything to plug it in, when I saw it I was like "k, random labtop" I'm thinking Its in the middle of a side walk almost IT DOSNT WORK, but the curious side of me was thinking ...What if it did So i pick it up and im rideing my bike to my friends house to plug it in and everything almost got hit by like 5 cars on the way but when i made it there we pluged it in and it turns on but a BIOS password comes up i wasnt fimilar with bios passwords at the time, but I am now lol I remember seeing them at bestbuy, they prevent costomers from even running the OS with out this password its pretty insane security, so I figured it was from bestbuy at this point We research how to bypass a bios password and shit, it pretty much imposible 2 days later i finaly get passed it by useing a paperclip (i hotwired that shit like ma-giver) and it has windows vista on it as an OS and it has Alex5 as the user I know i could have done the right thing and returend it to bestbuy but id rather not lol i thought a labtop that looks brand new should be mine, plus took me forever to hack into it. when i find out whats on it ill update this 5:22 AM 9/6/2010 |

| To be honest I'm not a fan of the "you find it, you keep it, it's yours! " - principle. But I guess it's too late now to return it anyway. | |

| Lol, no at first I actually looked to see if it was anyones, but after getting into it i found its a display labtop for bestbuy some idiot tried to steal a labtop LOL But yeah, im on it now and its pretty obvious it wasnt a personal computer, if it were i would probubly try and find the owner because computers cost alot and i could imagine getting riped out of 1,000$+ and how pissed it would make someone. |

Loool awesome thread awesome reply De8, I'm very impressed that you're so determined that you can find a way to crack it in just a couple days. Maybe you should put your hacker mindset in your state whenever you're going to animate, because it seems you have determination lacking there ( like Edyrem ) Oh and stop fucking stealing shit, you thief. That's not Psudan material.

You DO realise that you simply took it from the person that stole it before you, right? Which makes your act "stealing" as well... a personal computer is just the term. something that isn't your property shouldn't be used by you without the rightful owner knowing.. just my opinion.. To get back to your response in that other topic about whats legal/illegal.. I get bored here at work.. so I researched. Here's a few quotes: HACKINGhttp://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_hacking_legal- Spoiler:
- Quote :
- Most acts of computer hacking are illegal.
However, not all hacking is illegal - sometimes, companies hire professional security testers to purposely hack into their systems to determine how safe they are. This is known as penetration testing, also called "white-hat hacking" and "ethical hacking." While such activities are technically hacking, they are not illegal because the attackers have permission.
This doesn't mean that any hacking for which permission has been granted is legal, however. If someone gives you permission to hack their system, but they do not own the system or its network resources, it can be illegal. PHISHINGhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing- Spoiler:
- Quote :
- In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
TL;DR : They're both illegal if you don't have permission.

| whatever if i didnt take it home some hobo would have goten it or someone who could have no use for it simply becaause they couldt crack a bios password, its a good thing i found it because it would have been tossed in the trash if anyone els found it. I think its a stupid idea that something is WRONG simply because society deems it so, i will do what i must by any means necessary. Its easy for you to judge me because your not me, Im not rich if i didnt do the things ive done then i wouldnt be able to animate and do something i love So just dont tuch it, its better off just left alone. and ive been doing alot of drawing so i wouldnt say i need more animation motivation, ive just been doing things and not saying anything about them ive been very busy, also, tom i took your advice and have been doodleing alot , probubly not the bast habit in school, i tend to doodle more in math class

| it's ironic that you realise which company is the rightful owner, yet it doesn't cross your mind, in your last post, to return it to that store.. Then no hobo gets it, it doesnt get thrown into the trash and you do the right thing. seems like a good idea to me Can you at least acknowledge that stealing/ taking something that isn't rightfully yours is wrong? | |

| So a wallet somewhere isn't from a person if it's not in his pocket?
interesting idea.
On the other part of your post:
Good to hear you've been busy! have you got anything to show Psuda?

| Not ready to show it yet but you guys will definately be impressed
But all i was saying is my idea of the right thing to do isnt the saem as yors
If someone drops thier wallet and i know who's it is ill return it without a second thought, but i wont go out of my way to return something like looking for them unless theres an ID in the wallet, but i didnt know it was a best buy computter untilll after plugin it in, and honestly im not going to walk into bestbuy and return it 1
1 they might think I stole it 2 best buy is a larg corperation with plenty of money and plenty of computers, who am i hearting by keeping the computer
I wouldnt kill someone, and i dont think stealing is right, i just dont think its that wrong, maybe if i were someones computer like a PERSON then i would try and find them and return it but unless im hurting anyone, Whats the problem. |

| Found an iPhone the other day in the middle of the road, so I called up the contacts on the phone and got them to come over and collect it. Didn't even say thank you, ungrateful bastards. Should have kept the damn thing lol. | |

lol, at least you won't go through the guilt that would come from keeping an item that way. Personally, it's a battle of integrity vs shamelessness. I definitely don't think an iPhone or something is worth losing a chunk of my character.
