Those backgrounds are cool as hell - one reason why painting skills are valuable in the production of animated works. I especially like the backgrounds that don't look painterly, but look as if they're colored drawings (See: Redline). *After some researching* Actually, I'd say that I like the colored lineart feel for technology, buildings, architectural schitt - and the painterly look for nature - like evening skies and bright plains.
