lol I told de8 to post his drawing because it might inspire some more creativity.

Besides, we decided to draw some banner ideas together and post whatever we drew. I ended up simply polishing the official logo/banner while de8 proceeded with his sketch. I just thought it was a nice drawing, not a full-fledged design idea.

I don't think we should have several styles of the Psuda logo on banners. it would only create confusion..

I disagree; just because we have a logo doesn't mean we can't put it in a cool banner. In fact, we should have a rotating banner that shows different variations of the banner.

to bump an old thread into activity, how about we finalize the idea for the logo.
keep it steady for a while without changing it, just to get people to get used to it and be able to showcase it on our youtube channel as well.

I think the logo only needs to have a nice texture and possibly a color ( I kinda like the color, actually )
and then we have to pick the icon for the top right corner.

With more of a refreshed vision of things, I vote #2 for the logo. It looks the most versatile in its use. Imagine a large lineup of animation sites/studios in which every presence was represented by an icon. That'd be a great one. That has the potential to be an awesome "..those are the Psudans" insignia. In addition, we could always place a design like that unto a char as a tattoo...or if the icon showed up by itself in the opening credits, say, during a collab, I'd be all like "Shit's 'bout to go down."
The other logos can do that, too...but not as well as #2. (Rhyme Time, biznitches.)

Texture Wise, I would've been fine with the metallic smoothness, but I always imagine the Psudan mascot to be of a blue and black color variety. For that logo to fit in, the letters should accomodate that. Bleu 'n black is smex and still gives off the essence of Psudistry, so it's not a bad idear.

Interesting change of heart. Now I wonder what everyone else's opinion is. All you fellas, let us know if you still prefer #1.

Hito made some good points ,even though I think #6 could do the same things equally,a front view of the mascot as an icon might be better.
Now for the logo ,I think it shouldn't have a specific texture the form should be enough to recognize .One color fill ,that can change at certain times would be awesome imo.

Yea Tom, I spent a little more time going through the posts and I realize that the logo is pretty set in stone now. But I liked the idea of a preloader with the rotating symbol, and I really like making preloaders, so I've already made a quick little example as to what it would look like.

So we are getting a preloader, that means we need some good decent length animations coming out of here. Not much point using that for testers, or unfinished works.

The design is simple enough that tweaking it to suit the animations needs if it doesn't fit with your particular animation.

Right now I can't do any drawings, or Flash animations as my pc is dead. (I'm using my brothers right now)

Edit: Maybe you should try doing the "Psuda" in different styles, like in the pictures that Edy linked of WB. If you are willing, it'd be nice to see it done in a way that would fit with a less futuristic animation.

That's pretty fucking sexy, for a mockup. Damn, I get excited just looking at it, imagining seeing something like that before getting my mind blown by Psuda masterpieces of the future.

I think this would make a great loader for 'doodles,' test anims, etc.
Making it look real sketchy and shit.

The other concept I can think of for these kinds of non-fancy, non-polished uploads, is an acoustic style. I'll see what I can come up with there.

Yea I really like the idea of having separate preloaders for more sketched tests and then for more cleaned up animations. Keep going with the acoustic style Edyrem I'd like to see more in that style. I'd be more than happy to help make a few preloaders like them!

Pretty cool, man. You've got a nice feel to it.

But what the world is FBT5? Full Body Tournament 5? Did you just make it up for fun or is it a real tournament?

Also, my stupid brain was saying acoustic but it was thinking of wood (acoustic instruments are, as far as I know, made of wood, so I made that stretched connection, but I digress).

Here are some wood texture versions of the logo:

OOOoo! I like these, especially the third one. I like the raggedness of the wood texture. That would probably mach the more sketched, and incomplete anims. Maybe bring the saturation level down and give it a few cool glow effects, I think that would match the black and white them of psuda, as well as looking sketchy and ragged, but still awesome!

Lol no, not quite a tourney, although a tournament would be pretty sweet! But it just stands for full body test 5. So you could consider that anim I posted with the dudes slamming against the wall, [FBT|4]. I just figured I'd do more full body tests that are complete and call them each [FBT| ] by a new number. So like 6,7,ect. I also liked the idea of the little logo I thought up heh. But I don't want to say much more until it's finished, which should be soon. I planned on finishing it over the winter break, but school came back and slowed down my work flow DRAMATICALLY!

I see, that's neat.
Though, considering how often one would make 'tests' compared to 'full animations', you'd be better off making special labels for when it's a special animation. But feel free to do it as long as you like it.

Not a fan of the woodwork logos. Wood + Brown = not my thing on a general scale and something that I find unfitting for Psuda's cool, metallic theme. I wouldn't really think of putting those in incomplete animation or in any iteration of Psuda-oriented animation unless I were doing a Winnie the Pooh short.

^ Sexiest thing I've seen so far. Simple - the no-texture + glow allows it to fit with Psuda's themes and possibly open it up to slight customizations, as with Edyrem's example of the WB logo.

I'll admit, there is a nice quality to the blankness of the texture, but do you really find the neon style to be the best thing?

Thanks Hitorio I'm glad you like the design. I'm still not sure what you mean by the wb examples, do you mean like with clouds in the background or with the metallic styled letters?

And if your not happy with the neon thing, that's an easy fix. I want to make sure it's a preloader everyone will want to use. And I still like the idea of having a preloader for sketchy animations and more cleaned up animations.

I'll see what I can come up with on the Metallic letters, if that's what you mean.
